Chicago Wedding and Civil Union Officiant
Experienced Wedding and Civil Union Judge in Chicago and Illinois
Judge James A. Shapiro (ret.) has been a wedding officiant at numerous weddings and civil unions, and has a wide variety of beautiful ceremonies at his disposal.
His favorite is the Blessing of the Apaches:
Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness, for each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons, but there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead and through all the years.
May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth.
Judge Shapiro (ret.) has many other lovely blessings and ceremonies in addition to the Blessing of the Apaches. Judge Shapiro (ret.) is a former radio announcer, and has the voice to make your wedding ceremony spectacular.
Judge Shapiro (ret.)’s honorarium for weddings in the Chicago area is $300 and up, depending on the location and size of the wedding. That includes ceremony suggestions from which to choose and/or modify as desired, a meeting (if desired) at his office to discuss details, travel to and from the ceremony, and of course the marriage ceremony itself.
